When you do your best
Yet things don’t work out as hoped
You still did your best

In the such short years
We see them all fall away
And our promises….

From somewhere far, lament sings
Nearer still, there’s hope’s eased breath
Tho’ sad’s strings stir me
The Unknown’s my best friend
Almost Missed
Decree there be
That time for low light
For quiet contemplation
For the easy adjustment of eyes
And clarity, clarity
Abour the ever-evolving
Distraction from the dance
Apices
He’s afraid of coming close
She looks too much like him
The same sharp teeth
The same keen nose
The same deliberate swim
She wears scars so visibly
His brother’s constant barbs
They catch his eye
They call his cape
They yet keep him afar

Lies calm Just behind these eyes
Let heaven tell it
