Victory Assured
So…this is our calling
The plan plotted long ago
And though you didn’t know
Victory assured
But each day, march nonetheless
There are seeds to sow
Amass the underdogs
Empower their voices
Send them on their way
Bid them go…we’ve no say-so
Acceptance: A Haiku
I ask of the trees
What fresh-faced former stranger
To calmness am I?
Sun

Bananas
Oranges remind me of Juneau
Juneau reminds me of salmon
Salmon remind me of Gold
Gold reminds me of fire
Fire reminds me of water
Water reminds me of drowning
Drowning reminds me of calmness
And rising
Rising reminds me of mountains
Mountains remind me of you
You remind me of Mars
Mars reminds me of red
Red reminds me of yellow
Yellow reminds me of bananas
Bananas remind me of insanity
And oranges
Citizens
Free, we
Aren’t we?
And we’ll not forget
Earthbound
Heaven-bound!
And loved nonetheless
Easy
I miss
I understand
I reconcile
I nurture
The chances, taken and not taken
The reality that exists
The truth, that I may heal
The future
This was
This is
This must
This shall forever be
So easy
Webster’s Hill
Dictionary me
Plentiful of words
Heartfelt pronunciations
I’ll speak monosyllabic, if you’ll listen:
“I-loved-you”
You there on the hill
Webster’s Hill
Hardcover edition
I spoke King’s English
Plain English
All languages I knew
Prayed black-letter truths
Whisper-wished my marrow into you
What fateful stormy day
Opened you up
Revealed your empty pages
What phonetic wind
Took your hand from mountaintop
Carried you from me?
Lucky to have me
Ugly
You brooded at brunch
