As I simply live my life
I’m expecting this

Your humor is fierce
You come in like a lion
June will tame you. Down.

The Whales hold the words
And Light can name the beauty
My language fails me
This Haiku: And Parts The Sea
My heart battles back
Moments that sing out: “Fear This!”
Then God takes the mike
Some Morning
In advance of the rooster’s dutiful proclamation
And the bitter coffee’s been brewed just for me

Even before the Sun slinks forth to perform my favorite dance

I failed to answer
When I was quizzed about you
In a recent dream
If asked now, I’d cry:
“You’re posing the wrong question.
He’s always showed up.”
