Sentient Sacrificed
You, the junk
The addiction
The smack to my very well-being
The contraband to my no-pain-and-suffering-of-sentients policy
I, the chosen one
Queened for just such a time as this
Dignified, decree you
Sacrificed, nonetheless
Original thought credit: “Perhaps you have come to royal dignity for just such a time as this.” -Esther 4:14
The Beautiful Empty
Inmate lists and textless nights
Poetry Books of Days
Trauma breath & then no breath
Beautiful country songs
Guilt and shame
Someone else’s last name
Losing again and again
Oh, where needing will find you
Call To Action: Our Haikus
Venus reminds us
To come out from our corners
To follow our bliss
Would that her winds speak
In amber daydreamer’s tongue
And beckon us back
Original Thought Credit: “Follow your bliss. If you do follow your bliss, you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while waiting for you….” -Joseph Campbell
Dream Uncontained
A garden growing
Green as they get
Just for me somewhere
I cultivate from afar
Sunlight and truth, I send every day
Prayers pollinating good, good soil and seed
Evenings, my knees feel a joyful exhaustion
As I sleep, a Dream, rooted, yet uncontained, leans closer
Morning dew brings proof the weeds haven’t won
Will I reap?
Will the weeping wither, then fade from memory?
Watch with me
Ask: A Haiku
Breaching Earth’s surface
Full with the sway of wanting
We petition Spring
Enter Into
Wanting to look
More deep into her eyes
Wanting this thing
More than breathing
Wanting to calm
What stutter-stops his voice
Wanting to know
What does he want
Enter into conversation
She will be your song
Enter into understanding
He will prove myth wrong
Did I give you space
Our story is not final, Yo
Why can I never
