Worst Kindness

Words in blue and black

Shouting  from the wall

Under the guise of favor

Each day… someday…

With one decision today

I took you down

And all my eyes hear now?

Rustling flora on dogwoods

Happy at the bird on their branches

As Soon As It Could

All of the sudden
The sky appeared
And I touched the shadows against it
It came with a sound
I saw the wind
And I couldn’t care whether facts fit

In hues of blue
It startled my thoughts
And I knew no lack of the sun
Suddenly sleep
Felt less the to-do
And ’twas clear, The dark had not won

Starship Human

When a hole so vast
All recollection of gravity be long lost
When atmosphere’s touch
When sudden flares of solar light
Startles so to trigger a hurricane

What red-stained firmament
Marks tears visible light years away
What evidence is there
What proof of life
Or hope for hereafter

Such Dust

There on a Sunday
Working
Putting your fingerprints everywhere
I hoped it was a labor of love
When you looked down at the sawdust
Quietly
I wish I’d bothered you and asked

Wednesday morning, now
May my late words catch up to you
You take that space
You make it
Like no other
You breathe new life here
I’ll stop in soon
