Banned: A Haiku
My farewell address:
I’m sorry you left behind
Oh, so many gifts
Love, Lisa
If the Earth did turn, that the Sun seemed to rise this morn’
Just as sure as I wrote these words
You are not alone now
If you awoke, however dehydrated and aching
Let these words quench your need
I love you, turn with me, rise with me, thirst and ache no more. I love you
Next: A Haiku
If she wore red heels
It’s possible he’d look twice
There’s no way to know
*******************
For, if she’s alive
Or has died in some desert
He couldn’t care less
Snowing Now
How would one say this most tenderly
Having taken a chance, a first step
Towards a clean slate
Brushed clean the old optimist’s talk of hoping to give one’s whole heart
For one’s whole life
An offer of a lifetime
Open hands held
Shaking for oh, so, long
Waiting crazy patient
Retracted now, reality calls
How should I say this most tenderly, liar
Enjoy the ride South
As you watch me
Enjoy the ride
Skinny: A Haiku
Not a nobody
To be regarded as such
Not then, now, ever
Tutelage of Me
Gazing past you
Seeking solace in the wint’ry blue, that I might not be forced to look at you
Teacher
Distractor
Attempted diminisher
Before your tutelage of me, recall
Blank pages you were
Poor and lonely were you
Now, you’ve your green
What I was born with, you have stolen and will die with, you pray
But, we know what we know
As does God

100!!: A Haiku
