Haiku on Calligraphy
Curly-Q edges
My simple, pretty attempts
You douse with ego

Harem
Only you untethered me
Then spoke of my hands as though I loosed the knot
Eventually, you accomplished me
Invisible
I sneak you now, I know you see
But do not speak to me
I, floating away in waters warm and calm
And infested
I don’t want to
Honor your empty manifesto, if you must
Lightworker
Sunrise will rise
Upon my yellow
Reminding my eyes
Sunset must set
Must
Upon my yellow
Mid West
Woman to your man
Mirror to your vice
Skin to your fingertips
Proxy, perhaps
And all seems green to me
Continent
Pearl
After pearl
After pearl
I throw
Spending my days
Deeper
And deeper
And deeper
I dive
Losing my air
Circus of soil, of sea
Ringmaster, surf dweller
Walk away, swim away
I lord
Freeing my soul
Demurrer
Permission
And you don’t need it
Rocket fuel, though
For out-of-this-world ideals
Owned by idealistic men
Courageous ones with gall
With a willingness
To join hands with the Other
To answer
To make an admission, but never concede
Human
Kazoo
I can sleep now
It’s late, or early somewhere and I’ve worn enough sets of eyes for the day
Uncertain eyes
Thankless eyes
Never felt quite right, though
So I got tired eyes
Now all that’s left
Remember whose I am
Then what green-gold glint
Comes fluttering back
Roaring, of course, but of your blinded eyes
Blinding mine
Tired still
No Mere Myth
‘Tis true, love is a madness
Yet not merely, tho’ entirely
And its abode a wrongful ill
Yet I, at home in love
Nonetheless
