This ol’ ambition
Is solely for others’ feet
My smile’s tethered there

This Haiku: Be Moved

We hustle, don’t we?
Yet at the end of each day,
may we feel we’ve danced.

Oh to hear Hope’s pulse
As I sleep on pale purple
Oh to come as close

Today I hold dear
The Sun’s fun, the icy cold’s
sass and you, Trouble.

I’m holding tight here
on back. Don’t you go too fast.
Okay -go too fast!

Let me learn your soul.
Speak to me in Spanish. I’ll
hold you through dark songs.

There is a truth I
tend to forget: You have called
me Friend. It’s enough.

What is it we know
we’ll find as we chase love to
the ends of the Earth?

They are near-silent
As they fall down, or are tossed
In a pile they smirk

Compass mark to East
Wrap your fingers ’round the wheel
Careful for the curves
