What when all you allowed to stifle you
Exhales
Turns tail
And walks away with the stench of fraud hanging from its defeated bones
Might you then heave and gasp for the first time since your youth
Breathe
You will
When what all you allowed saves you

Now
Will we always want more
This may be all we’re given
Allowed just this moment
With just this breath aligned
Are we alright with that
green
To lie down somewhere warm
And, but for the new moon, green
Removed from all vice and sound and care
Letting our breath fight the demons
Pretending the other is not there
Unless it gets cold
breather: a haiku
now let’s do this thing
she pled with fading green eyes
to the fleet of foot
Piano Like That
He looked like a man
Preparing
Breath for
The happiest of walks
The most frozen day of the year
He and the sun
Dazzled
My eyes
So I cannot be
So sure he was walking at all
He held a hangered suit coat
Surrounding
Him was
A small line of cars
A possible well-wishing Brotherhood
He had puff to his chest
Relief
Of gaze
My heart asked me to ask
My breath could not and I drove past
Gasp: A Haiku
Soaked still in the shock
Of Some fictitious saga
That ended at all
Grace Again
Been thinkin’ about
My next breath
The thought of it
A seeming impossibility
But then somehow
It does show up
And kisses my neck
Actually
As it should
Where All’s Fair
My name giggled
Through out-of-breath genuine glee
Commanding that I cease
And then continue again
While watering, sparkling, half-open eyes
Reflect back that we’ve gone homeMy name spoken
Through no-longer-resisting resignation
Smiling as we sigh
Deciding whether we’re done
While fingers feeling eager to begin again
Take it upon themselves to tangle
Final Breeze
I have love
For the sunrise
Of a place I’ve never seen
A place that doesn’t know my eyes exist
But believes they must
It must be enough that I wake daily
With the vision of my beloved
And not the warmth
When I feel the final breeze
I want none other light in my eyes
