A Prisoner, I
Self-imposed, quite happily
Ever so content
*****
This white, gauzy space
These creatures roaming freely
Airiness abounds
*****
Singing hardwood floors
Turn-of-the-Century cell
A Caretaker, I
Mad River
All these people in over their heads
gladly
treading water, still.
Prettying up their
space
in ways thought not possible.
May we have peace, perfect peace
despite
the taunts of the cats in the box.

Content to chase the sunlight
And roam near our home
