Unhidden

Where, perfection, do you dwell
If not in the touch of one who loves me well

In the curiosity contained within the eyes
Of the soul searching, undisguised
For the compass contained within my center
For permission granted for which to enter

Windward

There was ev’ry bit the beautiful breeze
The wind in their hair bore the proof

Sweet and temperate
And on occasion, when circumstances necessitated,
Such as each bygone day and now and the ‘morrow,
Fierce

As abandonment, windward or leeward
Sets a compass mark true, does it not?

The Measure

 Against what’s proper
And polished
We keep our eyes down these days
Having faith in only that we no longer have the strength
To see what isn’t there

Each day brings its journey
Down stairwells
Through thoroughfares
Around corners too dark
Up or out into the blue

Thankful for life around and within
Aren’t we
Wishing though
For stronger legs and for footsteps
Whose echo steadies hands

Intimate Earth

Find me dancing, pointed East
Join me ’til we touch the West
Ice-bound North to shifting lights
We bare our shoulders heading South

You spicy rivers, flowing black
Oh peaky, jutting majesties
Please, in-betweens dusted with grit
And sweaty moss, hold fast my hand
