Sin and God

I see you tucked away, there in the corner of this epic adventure.
A stowaway undermining, under the guise of love and concern.

I come for inspection, to work, and for respite every couple of days and we lock eyes.
With your back to me, and a mirror before you, I watch you watch me plead hello.
There’s a reason you do not respond to my greetings until the awkwardness becomes too thick to ignore me anymore.

You’re stealing and hoarding and leveraging me and what’s mine.

The awesome view from on high.
The space I’ve created to just be.
The aura I emit.
My ample supply of lust and cinnamon breakfast cereal.
My apathy in attending properly to it all.

Until yesterday, when the doorman warned me, so gracefully, you must go.

More precisely that I must say to you.
When you’re here, you’re not yourself, thus this means it’s time.
The Welcome sign at my doorstep you’ve taken far too far, my friend….
It was never meant for you, you know, I see.
Sin and God told me.

City Of

A woken aura found me

Slow-danced me in silence when I thought to over-think

Baby, flanked in trouble, why?
Come here from over there

With your eyes wide open now
Rest in Me, He said

Yes Goddesses

With prophetic vision
All the women
In the family
Mothers and daughters
Cousins and nieces
With pets present
Met in unison
Tethered their souls
Gathered their wisdom
Shared bad meals
Cried then laughed
Rolled up sleeves
Studied the data
Examined their hearts
Consulted with God
Exhaled a “Yes”
Cleaned the mess
Moved some mountains
Saved the world
Then slept soundly

Dream Uncontained

A garden growing
Green as they get
Just for me somewhere

I cultivate from afar
Sunlight and truth, I send every day
Prayers pollinating good, good soil and seed

Evenings, my knees feel a joyful exhaustion
As I sleep, a Dream, rooted, yet uncontained, leans closer
Morning dew brings proof the weeds haven’t won

Will I reap?
Will the weeping wither, then fade from memory?
Watch with me

Ketchup

Every moment spent on edge
Feeling on the fringe
Shouting matches in our minds
Calm asks where we’ve been

Know there is a fix for this
Truly, there’s a path
Go to your knees, finally
Seek His face and ask

Watch This

God, I see You’ve been meddling in this from the start
Your majestic way

We two called upon You
We petitioned for Your peace
You answered with our miracle, praise!

Then how did his eyes stray?
Must he stroll away?

I still stand before You and my brother here
To confess the universe is wildly unpredictable, but this:

You granted love’s grace to us; and,
I do trust in You

Difficult Art

All the nonsense to receive
Mantas and tenets rising up
Ancient foundations to revere
What architects are responsible?

Live right, I accept
Love well, all the more

But call me not lover for a season
God didn’t build me to let go
If He tells me He did
I’ll tell Him He’s a liar
