I’m holding tight here
on back. Don’t you go too fast.

This Haiku: Dear Guitar,

Let me learn your soul.
Speak to me in Spanish. I’ll
hold you through dark songs.

There is a truth I
tend to forget: You have called
me Friend. It’s enough.

What is it we know
we’ll find as we chase love to
the ends of the Earth?

They are near-silent
As they fall down, or are tossed
In a pile they smirk

Compass mark to East
Wrap your fingers ’round the wheel
Careful for the curves

I saw you there in
my kitchen. Making trouble.
Wearing my apron.

Mystery, you are.
Full of and drunk from alike.
I hold the spy glass.

My friend asked I find
Perfection in this moment
It is my new truth

Why does the ocean
Keep me at bay in tide pools
I want to swim deep
