This Haiku: I Bought a Ticket

smith styling the spark
How close will he hold its hand?
Witness a wonder

This Haiku: 4a.m.

What defeats night’s dark?
Honey with morn’s Tea? Sugar?
Mine -plain, extra strong.

If I could touch you
I’d be the truth that you seek
If I could touch you

When I stop thinking
About the what-ifs and hows
I stop not breathing

That smile gives this smile
pause. But then, without warning,
cause -to burst forth loud.

Blended. Into One.
Effortless. They need not reach.
Nothing. Lest they touch.

I know how you like
To play with words -mix meanings
Throw prose to the wind

You know how I like
To play with toys -blocks, hard balls
Throw them sometimes too

We won’t endeavor
To play with shapes -hearts, diamonds
And I’ll hold my toys

Each and every time
I set sail and feel the sun
I’ll think of the moon

Rips in his clothing
Scratches, scrapes and no coat on
Shows the kids he’s tough

Why then does tender
Leak from his eyes if bugs cry
And creatures need care?

Did You see the stars?
Lo, I autographed their dust
as they dined on mine.
