“I Love You,” conceived
In the approaching twilight
Of the longest day

Your mind’s back corner
I know I’ll find myself there
Or else I’ll not seek

Write, pray, be…out loud
Everything’s such a poem
Here on Planet Muse

That hour spent asleep
Shall ruin entire evenings
Be there primrose paths

Each and every day
Is more beautiful, thank God
And less full of you

The one in the sun
He found his way home with me
Brave and orange and all

Here, it is today
Take from it all you’re able
Give to it your best

Will a song do, dear?
While with our shadows, we dance
Ella and Louis

He may say of me
I have her smile and her eyes
And know he has mine

My communal arms
Must reach deep, must pull life close
Through my ev’ry breath
