I waive my white flag
To you my fair, checkered past
My if-only life

Mansion: A Haiku

Don’t leave me emptied
anymore, evermore -don’t.
Don’t steal away me.

Oh to no longer
be unrecognizable
and disconnected.

You speak soft as if
you are not a universe,
you soft universe.

We betray ourselves
Should we seek a loving heart
Yet look not within

Church bells at 7
Lighted trees in the backyard
Your heart forever

You opened your hand
Though all your synapses say
Clench your fist tightly

I’ll repeat this here
There is an ease in their eyes
You’ll need it too now

I’d hoped to help heal
Or at least I’d save myself
Invisible ink

Start at the center.
Follow through to the outside.
Love it. Love it all.
