Black ink, white paper
The alphabet became grey
And hope bled away

Invisible Ink: A Haiku

We could only dance
My hair drawn back, eyes upward
Sketched my dreaming pen

Sugarless I’m not
But were I to pretend it
Oracle, portend….

What feeds troubled souls
Leaves me stifled and sickly
Proof I’m of Angels

We wish for someone
Who will tell us “I am here”
Will we be that One

I keep you alive
I water you every day
Li’l gladiola

Go watering can
Gather up all the world’s dust
Some back shelf I pray

When I walked blindly
As childhood will accomplish
My heart had Such wings

What delinquency
What shame to my guardian
My wayward carouse

I cannot make you
Tho’ I loved, proclaimed and died
I am reconciled

See me lost at sea
A speck on the horizon
Relish the distance

All of time taught me
This nothing means anything
And there is This Hope
