Haiku For Mom

Wind at my window
Awakening the wide wild
In me Mom tell him

Love: A Haiku

Mercy please be loud
Else I’ve no way of knowing
I’ll listen for you

There were once wings there

Now, strong, scarred shoulders are there

Yet feathers sprout there

How shall he bid her
Trumpeted Proclamation
To ask for her hand

Will I miss the pain
That tale remains to be told
I won’t miss the cold

All that I’ve expressed

Is as singing to the wind

Beauty gone somewhere

In secret my hands
lift you from my hip upward.
Your path shall be blessed.

Let us be quiet
together, until we can
be quiet no more.

That lyrical life
And those still, studying stares
I dream that we dance

Life’s brought me laughter

And tho’ I’ve learned through life’s pain

Life owes me kisses
