The cut has come on strong as I am strong
The red flows more fast than I am fast
The inhale cannot pace with the exhale
The color fades too far into the pale
The heart don’t yet know what it ought know

May 7, 2016: A Haiku
Too much metaphor
Results in the fall away
Of people, hearts, home
At Least I
Alarm sounds off
Eyes wide now
Feet hit floor
One deep breath
Mission this day
Help one heart
First things first
Take His hand
Smile real big
Heart Lore
Which are the important words
The ones we want made clear
Whose sentiment we underscore
Whose truths we need to hear
It’s key that they not remain words
But values we live out
Let us let them color us
And show what we’re about
Wasn’t
Throw away the balance sheet
Said the CEO
But when I pointed to the page
With the account of my dear heart
He looked at me, He said to me
Girl, then throw no pearls
Bellwether
This Day again
And this place
Here I move happily up That Hill
At an easily difficult pace
On account of my heart
And all that it hopes and hoped
I close my eyes to make a wish
A steady shutter
A sturdy tripod
On solid ground
A bellwether
Are all that comes to mind
or Bust
Something different with the heart
Cut and without borders
Snowflake-like to allow a freedom to breathe
Okayness to flow as it wills
Crackers, bananas
See sweet sugar chocolate replaced
The good-will of green with sunset orange
Red -May we see red not again
Of Choice: A Haiku
Invisible ink
Would that my heart not run dry
Ought my pen bleed out
You Better
Feel that
The heart and the gut
Beneath the soft skin
Above the strong legs
Equipped for the challenge
Know that
