On Getting On: A Haiku
I like living like
I’ve every reason to live
This single lifetime
Clear
Sugar, speak
Speak aloud to the ghosts
On this journey, with you from an infant thing
You know they know you
They’ll believe you
Have no fear
For it’s rest you’ll find
There
In them
And laughter, then silence
Finally
Look for me
Here
Speak
Bring us back to life
Easy

Steel & Glass
Hold fast to speed
Virility
With horse-powered heart of cold, hard steel
That feeds the oats my hand cannot
Fall sleeping, glassy-eyed
Blind
A plasma world upon a wall I cannot penetrate
That feeds fairytales, as my feet live actually
Speeding
You, Pontiac boy
Ever-beaconing muscle-car radio
Oldies songs all the way
Turned up
I, Chevy girl
Ever-grasping the volume knob
Ripped it off, tossed it out
My window
Pictured us
Forever grooving, reminiscing
Life-long love song
We’d drive
Kazoo
I can sleep now
It’s late, or early somewhere and I’ve worn enough sets of eyes for the day
Uncertain eyes
Thankless eyes
Never felt quite right, though
So I got tired eyes
Now all that’s left
Remember whose I am
Then what green-gold glint
Comes fluttering back
Roaring, of course, but of your blinded eyes
Blinding mine
Tired still
The Architects
Our table, looks like life got solved here
Messy
Pretty life
The time we had….
Our table, looks like love was made here
Real
Hungry love
The time we had!
