Your pitter-pattered
Rising, falling breaths of love
All I need ever

Sitting Up Straight: A Haiku
Have I told you yet
It bleeds effervescent orange
The scent of sunburst
shopped
Is your kiss
Conditional
Upon my curves
Withheld
But for my smile
Or will you
Take
The flats of me
Steal
My stoicness
Abe: A Haiku
I’m faded away
My honesty, sweat and blood
I am wasn’t there
Eagles’ Trust: A Haiku
How abundant life
What unexpected mountains
Where Eagles place trust
This Haiku: Green Flag
Some very odd-years
Since the most fateful of days
I’ve said go for it.
Of Necessity
I begin
At the beginning of you
You end
At the end of me
This is not weakness
White

I maintain
I could have done without the black
I had to look a second time, and then a sixth
I see it still in the most unremarkable places
I looked upward and Life appeared
I saw its red against the White
I feel the black come over me
I eye up red against the white
To Life
I know you spoke gently to her
With just the right answer in your eyes
To match the question in hers
Since there was music
She moved closer
And you made the most of the dark, I know
“…like looking through treasure.”
The book of you
Is long since written
Dreamily illustrated
Published
Perched on the shelves
And of the lists?
Waiting
To be found
By posterity
The brightest eyes
Will smile and say
You are
Like looking through treasure
