Little Light

Ought I bake a cake with this
One I whip up on the fly
A pretty thing to be consumed
Ultimately?

Do I don the corduroy
Deep thinking, feigned or actual
With elbows patched so scholarly
Egotistically!

Shall I sit alone with this
As ancient wisdom would advise
Perhaps eternally, but seek
Tranquility.

Or will I simply walk with you
In sweet-smart cameraderie
Joining hands from East to West
Intimately….

Last Ditch

Have you felt invisible
Made from supernatural
Then unmade by someone’s lack?
So have some of us

We become as sunflowers, though
We watch for a flicker
We turn in accordance
We thrive in The Light

Mother Road

What is the name of that road? The spirit and purpose of it? The one we approach, day in and day out, without hesitation?

Familiar with the smell of it, the distractions, attractions and tourist traps along the way, but unsure, in the dark, where to turn when it’s time, finally time, for a rest stop.

Trust, we must, the touch. The feel of our wheels we were gifted, from The Road of all roads, The Mother.

The Cost

Herald horizon’s glow

The coming home

The glory of the toil

The warm haven waiting

For only you

And, because I once loved

I did, I know!

My heart breaks for you

Who’ll count the cost

To leave on heart lights

To stoke the soul’s fire

Who’ll sleep so alone

Mother of A Son

I’m telling your Mother

That she should not feel less than full delight

The pouring out of her heart, the raising up of her prayers

Reward

Now comes you, feet firm, breaking rules and records ‘neath the firmament

With kindness and heart-strength -look at how you look at us

We, treasure to you and reasons to hope, so you come close to learn

Simple and virtuous, your needs

Unafraid to speak from love, write of love, to be and die for love

Lovely Mother, you’ve lived Right, you have not squandered Light

See here, your beacon, your boy

Blink

Looking up from the down
My eyes
Having been temporarily imprisoned
I matter-of-factly acknowledged The Light
It had been there all the while
And I knew It
