We warn our feet
Qualify our wishes with caution
Prove it up
Before the soul be set free to live
When none comes
When all the alarms go unheeded, convictions disregarded and we rule on the side of hope-drenched faith
Because what are we if we refuse to have faith!
We wonder back
At the how of it all
Through the bars of imprisonment that corral our wild hearts
While our fears run free

Stroke After Stroke
Sometime just sit and brush your hair
And stare
Off at nowhere
From the cool shadows or brightest sunlight
Stroke after slow stroke, comb through the thoughts
Causing wonder or stress or no care at all
There. Calm yourself
Heal yourself
Lay your soul bare
7:32am; Thursday, May 19, 2016: A Haiku
Swallow the bitter
And know deeper gratitude
In small sweetnesses
Flowers
My prayer, my sisters
Protection regardless of our own plans
Our story’s not finished yet
May eyes filled with light
Hook and tether our hearts
And we will see who we are
Fact: A Haiku
All my yesterdays
I so freely gave away
Have changed my today
heart you
Midnight hadn’t struck
Oh praise!
What awakened me
First words on loving lips
The heart it seemed
Wished to wake up
And tell it out loud
The one thing it knows
Untold
All the invisible damage
Allowed
Can’t I too be broken and bruised
Cut and lying
About a beautiful bicycle crash
Mine
I will always never
Need to be askedYou
Wondering eyes
Serene skin
Soul on-point
Down-to-earth
Convicted of glory
Lovin’ the truth
Knows-who-I-am
Earnest genius
Preacher boy
Stoic sovereignessNeed to be asked
To invest in you
Half New
I saw me at midcentury
Wearing race car red
Was I alone
I do not know
A swing in my shortish skirt
A flip to my hair
And sparkly Mediterranean eyes
Who’d dare trudge down,
Head first
With me
To the mystical waters
Just for a blessing
Some rocks
And sandy feet
Someday Sunday
Northbound perhaps?
With the cold for your friend
Would that you’d walk
To the end of the Earth
And fall straight-away
For all that you’ve cost your heart
With the wrong kind of noise
Then the most silent voice
Could continue in peace
To champion somebody else
