Here, it is today
Take from it all you’re able
Give to it your best

Two
I am sick from the sky
Its lies
And its beauty from which they escape
I’ve grown weary of wind
Its smiles
And the rarity of its southern charm
The Fifth
Nearly all I beheld seemed as an exhibit
You looked like proof to my skeptic’s eye
The evidence for hope
The verdict guilty of love
Closer
Do you daydream of Coffee
When it is night
Too late in the night
Imprudently so?
Do you long for Daylight
For earlier Light
That Caffeine’s first kiss come soon
I do
What The Cold
Because in this heart
Learning’s long since been arrested,
Summer’s unending
Therefore in this skin
Understanding’s never quite conceded,
Winter’s arriving
Miner’s Pick-ax
We wonder about whether to pursue the gold, giv’n to many of us as our birthright.
What of the cost, where ought we place it for safekeeping?
Sometimes wisdom begs, shouldn’t we be satisfied with silver?
Eureka! I thought this morning so loud you surely heard me.
Is the gold we claim our own? Increasingly we learn…it’s all somebody else’s alloy. An alchemist had been before us. Pouring trickery, then pulling heartstrings.
I, myself, thank the illusionist for that sweetest Summer. Warm, golden, nothing but refreshing theory. I laugh now and see the moving, invisible hand.
Take we back our minds and hearts. Go forth to the drivers seat, the miner’s pick-ax in hand. Seek silver!
Stranger
Endlessly
I think
I know
I myself
Will never
Resign
The dark, therefore, need not worry
If ever
At all
It did
Feel so
Inclined
