The Vast

 Each day at dawn

May I pour your tea

With increasingly steady hand

Deliver it to you

Standing

There

If I reach up

With fingertip brush the silvery dust of your crown

To my temple

Smooth

Then

Will you bid me back tomorrow

humble warrior

An inaudible promise and sigh
The most solemn tears
Necessities thrown to the floor
Secrets exposed now to light
Because of the understanding reach
A moment with heart held in the hand
One hesitant step as if to make sure
The thought to retreat
A kiss where fragile greets harsh
Eyes bowed in great honor
This presence

lunatic phase

 Is it the moon
In lunatic phase
Or perfect genetics within
That forces your hand
And tells you to tear
All that covers your skin

As life asks your heart
To keep looking far
Your feet will soon learn to keep pace
You’re promised, my love
All that shines above
Forever will seek your raised face

Date Unknown

 Hold me
With the intensity
That you’d otherwise shed your own blood

I’ll hold you
Absorb it
Then exhale out the flame that calms you

Our kiss
Realized
Tuesday, June some day, some year

Fathom

 Wondering, wandering, white-cotton boy
How many teeth did you see
As you made your way through
The waves of this World
Did water give respite to thee

Without wind or sail or even an oar
To propel your dreams onward to land
Did you bear your teeth only
At darkness and fear
And when others sought help, gave your hand
