It was the wind
Just
I told my neck
So sure it’d felt
Your fingertips trace
A promise
For later

Scrap: A Haiku
I dare us to tell
Why we cannot speak the truth
Or walk together
Pine
I wonder am I woodchips pine
Or golden strands of hay
Shredded bits of paper
With which you warm your day
Do I crackle orange-blue sparks
Or smoulder and then smoke
Dismissed into the dustpan
In one brilliant, single stroke
Wasn’t
Throw away the balance sheet
Said the CEO
But when I pointed to the page
With the account of my dear heart
He looked at me, He said to me
Girl, then throw no pearls
Citizen: A Haiku
If, as a traitor,
I meant to show I love us,
do you stand with me?
Headache
All the running
And I don’t know where I was going with this
But
It seemed important enough
Grace then woke me ’round mid-nite
From the dream
That was someone else’s
And giving me small rest
To be
You on the savanna not in khaki
Bygone-era flashgun held high at high-noon
Since you know there’s more than meets the eye
A yellow hat, but not exactly
Irritatingly inhuman level of patience for them
Misplaced monkeys beside you
Under the black cloth with you now
Looking for the simple
phantasm: a haiku
the Ocean not there
take your salt and take your depth
leave me parched and dry
Better
After all the level orange
Noise
You knew I love the morning bird
Song
Somehow you had me wake up
Sudden Stops
Not through dark glasses
Will I look toward
The brilliance of you
That fiery-blue that explodes from that you
From where when I let you come home, I opened the door
To distraction, destruction, the building back up
The giving of pause, the noticing all
I let you let me see
Without Caution
