This doesn’t matter
But somehow yes it does
Although it truly should not
And begs how can it not
This doesn’t matter
It must be unallowed
Right there in ink on lilac
It says so on my wall
Getting lost when
The shadows are long
And amber-y light
Glints
From
A particular piece
Of a place on this Earth
To
Your eye and you blink
And are found
O if only!
I should latch my finger through
The loop of the well-worn costume
That’s seen you through life’s ups and downs
And tear away the silly front of it
I’d see a new you
I’d help you through life’s unders and overs
In your rhythmic March
I watch you walk
With then against
The pull of the pre-dawn wind
And I wonder whether you feel
It is worth it
What consumes you
Now is cold, this Day
If the glass and girders
Keep you for a time
Then afterwards, what else
Claim what will count
Would that comes always
Always and ever
The consuming fire
And you brandish a flame
In your rhythmic March
Only after
I’ve emptied out everything
Poured it across and slinked it back in
Would I open my eyes
And seek
Permission
It does seem that part of what I hold
Is colorless
All the rest though
Fire and blue
Remember?
And though there’s the brassy trumpet doing its best
I only feel the resonance
From a violin
My kiss
Shall be
My plea
Oh be good to me
My hands
In your hair
My promise
To protect you always
From your beach towel
To the ocean
Saunter
While tiny fish nip at your ankles
As you save me
Run
