Sherlocked, Still

I wanted the mystery
I’m not the only one
It’s still there, waiting
And it never runs
Nor tries to hide

So I spy
Sometimes unintentionally
With my little hoping eye
And see
Intrigue smile at me — what glee!

Thankful for such prophecy
This jubilant rush
Calls with none notice
And we run…and we see
Magnificat unlocked

Blue Damsels

Diminished

From the wind, I think

Or what’s riding on it

Chilled uncertainty?

Despite any positive prophecy or revelation

Holy, scholarly, or both

It’s what troubles me to the core today

And my sisters too

So let us weep in any and all ways tonight

So the morrow we’ll feel as ourselves again

Whole

The Slumberless Way

He almost asked me out I know

But the law got in the way

I gave him my sky, I preyed him, go

Tell what the stars have to say

Each night I’ve dreams I wish to share

But time’s gotten in the way

It’s midnight, and no one wants to care

A woman’s prophesied play

I’m watching out for his soft heart

But my ache, it wants its way

It’s likely I’ll only know such art

From afar, my eyes kept at bay
