High: A Haiku
A warm rain afire
and a single note wafting
be my mountain high.
Order of Operation
Subtraction
We close our eyes alone each night
Takeaway
It’s always, always, freezing rain
The difference
The wintry side of the moon, it seems
Inner, last
What did we expect? There are rules
Ruin
Fitful sleep
A desperate kind
Days walking drenched
Evidencing innocense
I, asking Why
You, lifelong rain
The Drop
The drop
Atop the chim-chimney, in evening’s early hours
Slow, slowly down rock, round midnight
Absorbed then disbursed by the skin of the roof before dawn
Why, oh why, can gutters steal you by sunrise
The fall
Unrepentant Rain

thud
Answerer
As New
This is a gentle rain, I promise
And it will not drown,
But renew you
Your ghosts
Your clouds
Will linger for their time,
Then be washed away
First Day: A Haiku
Let it rain, damn it
Let it rinse clean each sole thing
Let it unite us
I am ashamed at myself
