Imperfect Photograph
We, this imperfect photograph
Seemingly
In which nobody
Wants to be
Warped by wisdom
Invested in love
Honoring any of Earth
Touched at their edges by angels
Apologetic or ever redeemed
As evidenced by this Alone
For Love’s Sake
I want warning
A premonition of apocalyptic heartbreak on the horizon
One single shot over the bow of my frontal lobe that jars me
Some tingling, dear sixth sense, some tingling!
All of which I shall defy for love’s sake
Flight Risk: A Haiku
Chocolate
We are not somebody’s
Although
We are
Each
Somebody’s chance
Their risk
And if they’re well-behaved
Somebody’s sure thing
Their reward
The Laughing Dance
Screens
Shades
And curtains
Never served me for certain
So I’ve torn them all down with glee
With one sole, honest purpose
To risk
Birds
Bugs
And butterflies
Too, a stray cat
Who’ll mingle with me
Just Eternal
It’s all just random
Pain, pleasure, whether we survive
But do not bet your life
That the just rain
On those tulips
And the inches they grew
Overnight
Isn’t just divine
Revealed
Face the cold for me
Take the risk for me
More than promise you will find
I will warm you to the bone
And reward you with a home
Flight Risk
Fleeing from the bramble
As though they feel they must
Forsake the soft of the fruit
For the wind in their wings
