Begin Again: A Haiku
Heart, teach me to look
And beyond silhouettes find
Substance looking back
Eighteen: A Haiku
A half world away
I delight to see you grow
For we’ve roots and wings
Sweatshine
Who could decry humidity on hardwood floors
The delight my footsteps find in it
Reminding me the date square on the calendar grants invitation
To bear my skin today
Shoulders and toes, midriff maybe
I laugh and pirouette at the thought
Each degree of my foot’s spin lingers longer
Home on hardwood floors
