I had a Dream
I persecuted him
I cross-examined him
Until the scales of justice shone into my eyes
Then came dawn
I looked and saw his name
Rey, a prince of light
I spared his life
I was a dream
Pursued by him
He bided his time
My green eyes and my green dress stole his sanity
Then we danced
He jumped and took my hand
It was the city lights
He saved my life

How many teeth did you see
As you made your way through
The waves of this World
Did water give respite to thee
Without wind or sail or even an oar
To propel your dreams onward to land
Did you bear your teeth only
At darkness and fear
And when others sought help, gave your hand

all the rain, and those Oceans
beckoning the swim.
This foreign terroir
Air as thin to pang the heart
Yet closer to Heav’n
