Wisdom Kingdom
To turn the mourning to a song
To claim the weather was your choice
And all the ache a beckoned friend
To want no more than what is now
To plant the flowers among pests
And seeds of doubt in yesteryear
So then, with wisdom, kingdom come
Only
When love won’t leave you
And asks, “Why should I?”
All audacious and unapologetic and such
Promising glow
Yet demanding descent into grey
Leave behnd the toxic whirr
Walk away from someday
Right Garden: A Haiku
Wisdom befriend me
Show from whence your comfort comes
Come ye from the dark?
Location: Frank Lloyd Wright garden at Taliesin; Spring Green, Wisconsin

It is enough for me, the breeze today. To let it waft over me, and with it, bring a strength.
Beauty and curiosity, like a bleached-comb Cardinal, often ride on such air. This morning, though, wisdom arrived.
This morning, the wind asked for my resolve: A halt to crying over others’ big promises and small feet. The stop to the bruises I allow.
A decision that I am enough. The God who created me said so.
This weekend, a storm of understanding is predicted. An Eastern Bluebird cannot be far behind.
At 10pm
There is a warm wind
A powerful voice rides upon it
Promising
But the bandana is unwavering
Listening
Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow
When Winter returns to assure
Spring Green
There was in that dark house
A dark corner
Barricaded by a bookcase
Shelves of borrowed, unused wisdom
Visitors might only glimpse
One trying afternoon
Two deja vu’s too many
A final conversation
A one-sided determination
A voice overdue journeyed forth
And She Said
Let there be light
For She Knew
There should be light
There can be color
There in the aftermath
A dark mess
Cobwebs and chipped paint
A different bookcase revealed
She scrubbed and painted Green

What Wisdom
We used to commit all types of crimes
Against our smaller selves
Without comprehending why
How did truth let us out alive
Grown now
We mustn’t pretend we are
Answerless
You All Along
There is a message within in us each
Will we entertain calm to hear
Fabricate our Messiahs rather than pause
Wonder-filled at the wisdom they bring
Then further we plunge into some noise
Withdraw me never
