Sinew’s Counsel

Does your heart muscle remember
How it let go

Do you recollect
Those times you’ve freely relinquished
Or not wanting to release, did as much?

Account here your every sinew’s wisdom
Every neuron’s path

There is more of this road to trod
Hellish and unrelenting
Only hope will walk it

And I see footprints
But are they my own, making headway

Falling back
Lost?
I welcome your words

Teach my ears, my eyes, my fingers, my heart
How to let go

Rooftops

What is there to say to the silhouette
Eyes and heart now stolen

Haunt me more
Keep me again from sleep

Let the light take its leave from your shoulders
No it cannot be

I drown in words
Though speech has escaped me

On A Limb

You taught me

Shackles
They’re not imagined
As I’d hoped

Houdini
Cannot help me now
None magic to be had

Trust, intuition
So much platitude
And for others only

Words
More cheap than ever
Counterfeit Currency

I learned
