As for children already being whole people — yes they sure are. I struggle every day to try to not impose some arbitrary will of my own on my young son. I’m here to guide him safely into adulthood, not to turn him into “mini-me!”

This reminds me of when someone told me that while my head was in the clouds, I needed to put my feet on the ground.
