Ode to Mrs. Roosevelt: A Haiku

If heart be the brick
And silence be the mortar
Then safety’s not safe
****
If feet be kept still
And ideals be left dormant
Then life hath not life
****
So scream if you must
And spit out what has pained you
Lived lives trump safe lives
****
In all this great world
And indeed the universe
Tarry Not cries out
****
Feel Bleed Ask Impeach
Jump Proceed Cure Cultivate
There’s no choice in this

“…I could not, at any age, be content to take my place by the fireside and simply look on.”

-Eleanor Roosevelt

  2. I am always amazed at how you see the beauty in the world, but fail to see all the beauty you possess. You are one of Gods favorite messengers and an Angel of innocense. Now let your heart be free and enjoy all of what this world has to offer. Whether it be a sadness you can soothe in another, or a happiness to be enjoyed. Waiting for the smile to return in your eyes.
