My friendly ghost
that I invite to tea
in sweetest kindness
always obliges me.
I reach through the ether
and ask “Please join me.”
With the deepest respect
my ghost does not flee.
Mine were born, bred and trained
to never be speechless.
This moment though,
my experiences and head-knowledge fail me.
So with heart-and-soulmate-powered understanding, I ask,
may I have yours and all they were born for?
The elusive brass ring
that I swore I’d not chase.
I see it up close now.
I’ve come face to face.
It sears as I grab it
and I’d hoped that it would.
The pain makes me smile.
The suffering feels good.
I take off my shoes now.
Let the Race pass me by.
I stay and am one with
my hope -Magic Eyes.

I watch in awe as, with inexplicable determination, a breezy green prince leaps ‘cross my path without care that I may decimate him as I bear down with salt-blurred vision and an uneven pace.
With equal determination, I point my wild wheels in his direction and plan to spin him as I hear him smile “Ribbit.”
