Yes the nothingness
I’ve shouted deep into it
I’ve heaved the gauntlet

Stilled: A Haiku

The windows open.
All night. The moon stakes its claim.
Not a sound. Not one.

Numbers why numbers
Why not your skin on my skin
Notwithstanding words

As untethered luft
Not a single soul’s compass
No heart light left on

The future I see
Blue-green against the silver
The gratitude years

The surface captured
The all that they seem to see
I behold your deep

For to find yourself
Untether and free yourself
Let go -be yourself

Oh -the open air!
Did you taste my tears trailing
to my happy heart?

How abundant life
What unexpected mountains
Where Eagles place trust

I’ll collect the crumbs
I’ll reach out to the empty
I’ll touch the laughter
