I’m stunned by the year
to come and all it has giv’n
and how much we danced.

Your Years: A Haiku

We run the good race
And along the route we learn
To thirst for what’s right

You know you owe me
An amazingly awesome
Explanation God

I vow to wait for
the airy, broad strokes of you
as you’ve been set free.

We will soon escape

I will take us home good book

And melt into you

Through well-rested eyes
May I see Truth in today
Despite the color

All will be all right
If we remember our roots
And dig the way back

If there’s a reason
For the late-December rain
It’s to look deeper

I’ll have graffiti
Swept across sacred places
I’ll watch you at work

Tho’ first I’d declined
I saw the light peeking through
So sprang to my feet
